Editorial methodology

How our recommendations are made.

A clear boundary between calculated harmony, observed trends, automation and human judgment.

1. Calculated palettes

Clothing harmonies convert the selected HEX color to RGB and HSL. Monochromatic palettes vary lightness; analogous palettes shift hue by ±30°; complementary and split-complementary palettes use defined angles on the color wheel. Makeup palettes use curated rules for skin depth, undertone and product role.

2. Trend observation

Our automated software reads only configured, publicly accessible sources. It extracts color claims and stores the publisher, URL, publication date, access method and a content fingerprint. Evidence already processed is skipped.

3. Source standard and approval

A trend normally needs two independent publishers or one specially weighted authoritative source. Automation may structure and translate material, but it cannot publish. A person checks the title, recommendation, colors and evidence.

4. Use of AI

A language model may turn collected evidence into a structured draft. The model is not a source. Claims must be supported by the linked material; mathematical palettes are calculated locally without an external model.

5. Commercial independence and corrections

Advertising or affiliate participation cannot buy a favorable recommendation. Any paid placement would be explicitly labeled. Errors or outdated sources can be reported through the contact page; confirmed problems are corrected or removed.
